Willow's operation.

Hello family and friends! Tomorrow Willow will finally have a tube placed in her right ear. This has been long awaited, since January of this year and we are so glad she is getting the help that she needs. After several doctor's appointments we finally began seeing specialists who determined that she has a significant hearing loss in her right ear. The Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor is optimistic that it is just fluid build up impairing her hearing; however, he also suspects that her ear bones may not have developed properly.
She will be under anesthesia for a total of 15 minutes and while under, the Doctor is also going to perform and allergy test, which has also been long awaited (several years actually). The tube will be surgically placed and will fall out on it's own in about 8 - 9 months. There is risk of scar tissue build up after it is placed in the ear canal, but in the long run it will be minimal compared to the hearing improvement Willow will experience. This of course is also expected to help her speech which in turn helps her reading and communication skills, so we are so excited to get this underway. We expect a very different Willow once this is over and I can't wait to see all of the positive changes!
If you have time, please send Willow a cute card, she will really appreciate it!
